Edexcel Computer Science (9-1)

In the Edexcel GCSE Computer Science course, you will cover problem-solving; programming; data; computers; communication and the internet; and, ‘the bigger picture. You will also get to do a programming project in which you’ll develop a computer program.

Course Structure & Content
- The course is split into key topic areas: algorithms, programming, data representation, computing hardware, networks, cybersecurity, and the social impacts of computing.
- Students are required to understand and use programming constructs such as variables, constants, sequencing, selection, iteration, data structures, input/output operations, operators, and subprograms.
- Emphasis is placed on computational thinking, algorithm design, flowcharts, pseudocode, testing, and debugging code.
